The period starter kit from hhgi

The Period Starter Kit (PSK) Program is for tween and teen girls that have not yet had their first period. The kit is intended to be kept in a backpack, purse, etc so that you have period products ready and available when your first period arrives.

what’s in the kit?

Each PSK is made with a cosmetics style bag, that can be reused over and over. The kits contain period products like pads, tampons, and wipes (the product mix varies by source).

who is eligible to receive a kit?

All girls residing in and/or attending school in Lake Havasu City are eligible to receive a kit.

how do I get a kit?

HHGI partners with the local school district. Every student is eligible to attend an opt-in puberty lesson in the 5th grade (look for a permission slip from the school nurse to attend). All female students attending the annual puberty lesson in 5th grade will receive a kit.

If you did not attend the puberty class, missed the class, or otherwise did not receive a period starter kit you can also request one directly from HHGI by clicking here.

can i customize my kit?

If you receive a kit through your elementary school’s puberty class, you will receive a standard PSK with a variety of ultra-thin pads and wipes. We also leave room in these kits for you to include a pair of “backup underwear.”

If you order directly from HHGI, you can customize the contents. The current options include: ultra-thin pads, tampons, wipes, and backup underwear (in your size). You can include or leave out any of the options. You will also have the option for either a printed or digital version of our “My First Period” booklet.
